I started my journey of an empowered and informed pregnancy and birth with BBN. Sapna from BBN is a champ. She has been so helpful and prompt with her replies for even the smallest and silliest of my queries. Kudos to BBN for doing the much-needed, yet not-recognised-enough work for pregnant and new moms in Bangalore. For women who want to have informed and positive birth experiences, these guys are a must. They deserve 6 out of 5 stars.

Was lucky to come across BBN and Meghana responded right back when I was pregnant in a new city and was confused where to even start looking for a doctor. Had a long chat with her about what to look out for even though it was my second time. I got a lot of good advice from her about what to look out for when choosing a doctor. For first-time moms, this kind of advice can be very valuable, since it's so easy to get awed and intimidated by the doctors in regular hospitals, where eventually moms end up giving up many of the hopes/dreams they had about the delivery. This kind of a network and support system will help make confident moms, who can have their chosen birth experience the first time round, rather than learn lessons for the next time, or give up on a second baby even, because of a bad experience.

I have gone to Bangalore Birth Network with questions on fertility, pregnancy, birthing and even breastfeeding. I have been guided or referred to the correct person for guidance every single time. Really grateful and thankful.

A 37-weeks-pregnant mother had travelled from Dubai to India in the last week of Feb and self-quarantined. She wasn’t showing any symptoms after her quarantine period, but yet the doctor she saw insisted on a c-section due to COVID-19. She reached out to our Helpline wanting to find a doctor who followed evidence and research-based practices. We were able to put her in touch with the birth network in her city who helped her find a new provider and have the birth of her choice, making an informed choice. She recently reached out to our Counsellor to thank us for our work and timely help.

A woman in Ahmedabad had just found out that she was pregnant and was not able to find a doctor in Ahmedabad who was taking new cases. She has Thalassemia and was feeling tired all the time which led to concerns regarding her pregnancy. She called our Helpline and was immediately put in touch with a Childbirth Educator who helped find her a doctor. On follow up, the woman appreciated the service and felt supported.
